Who is responsible for your data

What data we collect
- When you write to us: your email address and whatever you include in the message.
- When you visit the website: our hosting provider records technical data such as your IP address and browser in its server logs, for security and to keep the site running.
This website has no forms, no newsletter and no analytics. We do not ask for sensitive data, such as health or religious information, so please do not include it in your messages.
What we use it for, and on what basis
- To answer your messages, which is our legitimate interest, or a step you ask us to take.
- To protect the website against abuse, which is our legitimate interest.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising and we do not add you to any mailing list unless you ask to join one.
Who else processes your data
We rely on a small number of providers who process data on our behalf and under their own security obligations:
- Hostinger, for web hosting and email.
- Google, for email (Gmail).
When you click a link to Amazon or another store, you leave this website and that store handles your data under its own privacy policy.
Some of these providers are based in the United States or store data there. Where the law requires it, transfers are covered by the safeguards those providers offer, such as the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
How long we keep it
We keep your messages for as long as we need them to answer you, and for up to two years afterwards in case you write again. Server logs are kept for the short period set by our hosting provider.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format, and you can object to its use. Write to hello@zenbookspress.com. We answer within one month. If you live in the European Union and think we have not respected your rights, you can complain to your data protection authority; in Spain this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).
Security
The website uses an encrypted connection, and access to our accounts is limited to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, and if something went wrong that affected you, we would tell you.
Age
Some of our books are written for children, but this website is addressed to adults: parents, grandparents and teachers. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, for example when we add a newsletter, we will publish the new version on this page with its date.
